How to Travel with Translink

Brisbane suburban trains, buses and ferries are un-reserved 'turn up and go' services. Fares are covered by the
Go Card
system. You must purchase a Go Card before travelling on trains, buses or ferries. It's easy to use: simply touch on at the beginning and touch off at the end of each trip onboard your bus or ferry or at your train or tram station. Your go card will automatically calculate and deduct one overall fare. Just look for the brightly coloured Go Card validators or entry gates at the entrance and exit to each train or tram station or onboard your bus or ferry. If you do not touch on you may be fined for travelling without a ticket. If you do not touch off at your destination you may be charged more than you need to pay. All fares are calculated by the number of zones you travel through. Go Card is used to pay for travel on the AIrport line trains to and from Brisbane Airport, but be aware that premium fares are charged for travel to and from the Airport stations.

Would you like to help us?

We are an independent small business running on the smell of an oily rag. If you would like to help us, even the smallest contribution to our running costs can make a big difference. By ensuring we can keep paying our web hosting, data communications and software costs, we will be able to focus on keeping our maps and databases up to date.

Every little bit helps, and yes that really means as little as just one dollar (AU$1).
